Fair Pricing for Real Estate Photography in Los Angeles, CA

los angeles real estate photography prices

As a "former" Los Angeles real estate photographer, I've invested in high-quality cameras, lenses, editing software, accessories, expensive computers, and more - all of which affect how I've priced my photography services.

But what's the actual fair price of real estate photography in Los Angeles?

Most real estate photographers charge based on what type of license their providing for their work.

Contrary to popular belief, the Realtor or homeowner don’t own the real estate photos. The photographer does.

If the real estate photographer was to give away or sell the ownership and copyright of their images, it would be waaaay more expensive (usually)...

But that's not all. Real estate photographers in Los Angeles that are in high demand or have a great reputation often end up charging higher prices due to the more limited time they have, and miiiight be taking advantage of the perceived value of their work. Because…why not? There’s only so much of them to go around!

Los Angeles real estate photography is not any different than anywhere else in the US, for the most part…

Generally, a "Limited Use" license is the most common type of licensing in real estate photography. It restricts the usage of the photos to specific purposes, like the MLS/online listings, property brochures, and for a predetermined limited time.

Most Realtors don't need more than this, so neither the agent nor the real estate photographer should sweat this stuff. That's just my personal opinion!

Btw, here’s MY STORY on how I became a real estate photographer in Los Angeles, CA
